Thomas M. Nicholas II, O.D.
Son of T. Michael Nicholas, O.D. and wife, Joan, Thomas M. Nicholas, II, O.D., also known as “Dr. Tom”, was born in Bloomington, IN. As a young child, Dr. Tom moved to Oklahoma with his parents and attended Hennessey Elementary School. Moving to Enid in 1980, Dr. Tom attended Enid Public Schools until graduating from Enid High School in 1987. After graduation, he earned a bachelor’s degree in history with an emphasis in pre-med sciences from Oklahoma City University in Oklahoma City, OK. Following in his father’s footsteps, Dr. Tom and wife, Valerie, moved to Bloomington, IN in 1994, where he attended Indiana University School of Optometry, graduating with his doctorate degree in 1998. Shortly thereafter, he and Valerie returned to Enid and he joined the staff of Enid Eye Clinic, Inc. In 2006, Dr. Tom moved his practice to Nicholas Eye Clinic, PLLC, partnering with his dad.
In addition to being committed to his patients and their care, Dr. Tom is also a busy husband and father of two daughters, Hannah and Jillian, and enjoys spending much of his spare time with his family, either traveling or attending their various sporting and dancing events. Sharing in his father’s love for flying, as well as being an experienced pilot himself, he also thoroughly enjoys spending quality time with his dad flying their airplane around northwest Oklahoma and is an avid gun collector.
T. Mike Nicholas, O.D.
Born and raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Dr. T. Michael Nicholas, better known by his patients as “Dr. Nick”, has been providing optometric care to his patients for 42 plus years. After earning an undergraduate degree in zoology from Central State University in Edmond, OK in 1968, he went on to attend Indiana University in Bloomington, where he received his doctorate degree of optometry in 1972.
Returning to Oklahoma in 1973, Dr. Nick began building his practice in Hennessey, OK, where he, along with the help of his wife, Joan, opened his first optometry clinic. In 1979, Dr. Nick moved his practice from Hennessey to Enid Eye Clinic, Inc.; where he continued to provide optometry services to his patients until 2003. In addition to his practice in Enid, Dr. Nicholas and Joan formed Nicholas Eye Clinic and Optical Shop in Kingfisher, OK. Dr. Nick divided his time between the two clinic locations from 2000 to 2003. Nicholas Eye Clinic and Optical Shop was moved to its current location of 1204 W. Willow, Suite A in 2004, where he continues to practice, alongside his son, Thomas M. Nicholas, II, O.D.
When not dedicating his time at the clinic, Dr. Nick enjoys spending time with Joan and their family, especially granddaughters Hannah and Jillian. An experienced pilot, he also loves flying with his son, Tom, in their Cessna 172 Skyhawk and working on projects in his wood shop.
Chase D Ratzlaff, O.D.
Dr. Ratzlaff grew up just south of Ringwood, OK, graduating from Ringwood High School in 2006. From there he attended Oklahoma State University and Northwestern Oklahoma State University, receiving his B.S. degree from NWOSU in biology and chemistry in 2012. Upon graduation, he attended Northeastern State University, Oklahoma College of Optometry, in Tahlequah, OK, graduating Cum Laude in May of 2016. Upon completion of his state licensing, Dr. Ratzlaff joined the team at Nicholas Eye in August 2016.
Dr. Ratzlaff is excited to have the opportunity to return to northwest Oklahoma, to offer quality care for his current and future patients! He is well trained in the newest technology and procedures for the treatment of ocular disease, and has a special interest in pediatrics and contact lens fitting.
When not at the office, you will likely find him spending time with his wife, Cortney, and their two sons: Hudson and Carson. Dr. Ratzlaff enjoys many sports, and any activity that can get him outdoors.
